1. Core functions
Load-bearing body: It directly replaces the traditional steel coil spring and supports the weight at the rear of the vehicle through the pressure of the internal compressed air.
Adjust vehicle height: Work in coordination with the air compressor, air storage tank, distribution valve and control unit to adjust the vehicle's ground clearance in real time and actively by filling or releasing air.
Offering extraordinary comfort: Compressed air can provide extremely flexible and linear cushioning, effectively absorbing and isolating road vibrations and shocks, which is the physical foundation that lays the top luxury ride quality for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Keep the vehicle level: Regardless of the number of rear passengers or changes in the load of the trunk, the system can automatically adjust the pressure of the left and right airbags to keep the vehicle absolutely level at all times, ensuring driving stability, safety and the constant Angle of the headlight illumination.
2. Working Principle:
Lift the vehicle body: When the vehicle starts, the "lift" mode is selected, or the sensor detects an increase in load, the air compressor starts, pumping dry air into the airbags, causing them to expand, and the vehicle body rises accordingly.
Lower the vehicle body: When the vehicle is traveling at high speed (lowering the center of gravity), the "lower" mode is selected, or the load is reduced, the system control valve opens, expelling some of the air in the airbags to the atmosphere or the air tank, and the vehicle body is lowered.
Automatic regulation: Height sensors distributed throughout the vehicle continuously monitor the vehicle's posture and send the data to the suspension control computer (such as the AIRMATIC computer). Based on this, the computer instructs the valve body and air pump to work, forming a precise closed-loop automatic regulation system.
