Description
Ii. Detailed Technical and Physical Properties
Manufacturing process: Usually forged from high-strength alloy steel, the CAM surface undergoes special high-frequency quenching or nitriding treatment, endowing it with extremely high hardness and wear resistance to withstand continuous high-frequency impact and friction with the valve top cylinder (or rocker arm).
Structural design
CAM: The profile curve, after precise calculation, determines the speed, lift and duration of valve opening, directly affecting the engine's power performance, economy and emissions.
Journal: It is used to rotate in the bearing housing hole of the cylinder head, with extremely high dimensional accuracy, ensuring smooth rotation and good lubrication.
Oil passage: Inside the shaft, there is a lubricating oil passage to ensure that the engine oil can smoothly reach each journal and CAM surface that requires lubrication.
Signal disk: One end of the camshaft is usually equipped with a target wheel with a special notch or protrusion on it, which is read by the camshaft position sensor and provides valve phase signals for the engine control unit. It is the basis for achieving functions such as variable valve timing.
Iii. Main Application Vehicle Models and Engines
This camshaft is mainly compatible with the small-displacement engines of Hyundai/Kia Kappa series.
